Holy Spirit of the Promise

by Bro. Ogie Omozusi

In the grand plan of the Lord’s promise to Abraham, the gospel can only be brought to completion by the operation of the Spirit of God. The redemptive plan of God can only be executed from start to finish by the workings of the Holy Spirit. Moses by the inspiration of God tells us in Genesis 1:2. When our earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep, the Spirit of God moved upon us, and the Testator Jesus Christ shone upon us as light to start the process of deliverance from death to the fullness of life. [Genesis 1:2-3; 2 Corinthians 4:6]. The Lord Jesus by His Spirit is here to deal with all waste, emptiness, darkness and death.

We shall be discussing on the topic: Holy Spirit of the Promise.

Have you ever wondered why the Holy Spirit is called Spirit of the promise? It is because the Spirit of the Father is released into us to actualize and fulfill the promise. It was for a down payment of our inheritance. The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession. That means the fullness is coming. [Ephesians 1:14]

Please review the scriptures below:

Ephesians 1:13 KJV — In whom ye also trusted, after that, ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise* [Eph 1:14 KJV] 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Luke 24:49 KJV — And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 1:4 KJV — And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Acts 2:33 KJV — Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

We have seen it in the day of Pentecost [Act 2:1] with the fearful disciples, we have seen it in Azusa Street Revival among the less privileges, we have seen it in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, with the orphans and students, and we shall see and partake of it in our day, not in-part realm but in fullness. By His grace in Jesus name. Amen. They all waited for the promise of the Father [Acts 1:4; Luke 24:49], all with one accord in one place [Act 2:1]. They all fasted, prayed and cry out for the visitation of the Holy Spirit.

When you compare the above experiences with Revelation 12:1-2 KJV — And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

2 compound things are critical:

♦   Verse 1: We see a Body of people represented by the woman in oneness [John 17:20-23]. Jointed by the unity of Spirit, faith and knowledge [Ephesians 4]. Born of the Spirit, [Galatians 4 & 1 Corinthians 6:15-17]   And free from the weaknesses, limitations and failures of the things God hate. [Revelation chapters two and three and 1 Corinthians 10]. And
♦   Verse 2: Is the estate of a life of prayers, praise and worship [Revelation 8:3-5] A realm of the Spirit of grace and of supplications [Zechariah 12:10]and not keeping silent [Galatians 4:27 & Isaiah 62.6]

Brethren, let us pray to consistently experience Revelation 12 verse 1 and 2 in all our local fellowships. This will hasten the actualization of the Holy Spirit visitation [ Psalm 91:14; Rev 11:3; Rev 12:5 & 10], as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. [Isaiah 66:8]

May God pour upon us the Spirit of grace and of supplications to cry out onto Him for this Rain. [Zechariah 10:1 & 12:10]. The heavens are heavy with Rain; we must Ask for entrance into this higher dimension of Life. Beyond the in-part realm to seeing God face to face, from been a child to be a man [1Co 13:9-12]. A placement of moral and ministerial capacity as Jesus Christ was when He was on the earth [Revelation 12:10; Rev 11:3; Isaiah 11:2-3 & John 14:12]

Please review Joel 2:23-27 carefully. I have reproduced Joel 2:23-25 below:

[J oe 2:23 KJV] 23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first [month]. [Joe 2:24 KJV] 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. [ Joe 2:25 KJV] And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you

■   Joel 2:23, the rain is given.
■ verse 24, the effect of the rain is manifest by the wheat, wine, and oil (harvest within us and harvest without)
■   verse 25 there is a restoration (Hebrew: H7999 shâlam ). This has two major fold meaning: a) entrance into covenant of peace & remaining in peace and b) to be complete & be sound

We need the matar and the geshem rain desperately at this time to restore the covenant of life and peace.  A life and character brought about by the inworking of the Holy Spirit in our lives full of wheat, and our fats shall overflow with wine and oil. This is the realities of Isaiah 11:2-3 fully operational practically in a people in this day of his Presence. May God cause us to partake of this life. In Jesus Name. Amen.

All graces, power and authority is ordained to be released to His church on this day of His Parousia. [Revelation 12:10]. This is the time when He makes His servants ruler over all his goods [Matthew 24:47]. This is made available to wise and faithful servants BEFORE the union with the Lord Jesus Christ [Matthew 25: 1 & 10].

Matar and Geshem rain is the combination of rain of the Holy Spirit that brings healings, revivals, fruitfulness, and restoration for God’s children and execute judgement against our adversaries within and without [Joel 2.25; Zechariah 10; Psalm 68.9; & Isa 55:10-13].

May God help us. In Jesus Name. Amen

Prayers :
■ Ask for Rain.  [ Zec 10:1 KJV] 1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; [so] the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

May the Lord bless you and make you a blessing. Amen.
