What is the Gospel?

Ogie Omozusi Beloved Brethren We shall be discussing on the topic: What is the Gospel  [euaggelion]?  We are told in Hebrews 2:3 that this great salvation began first to be spoken by the Lord [Matthew 4:23 & Luke 2:10] and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him. This is an important observation, and we need to understand this in relation to the overall plan and purpose of redemption. It means there was no point in time from Adam to John the Baptist that the gospel was revealed.  In John 1:14 KJV — And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth. All that Moses could bring was the Law with all the manifestation or ministrations of death, dying, decay but Christ came by water and blood, brought the gospel (good news), full of grace and truth, and all the attributes of life and that life overflowing. [John 1:17 & 2 Cor 3:7-8]  Therefore, we understand that without Jesus Christ there's no gospel. Christ is the embodiment of the gospel, He is the good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. [Luke 2:10]  In this short meditation on the gospel. Let’s focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. All you've heard, seen and will yet be manifest to us about the gospel, flow from the person of the Lord Jesus Christ [Proverbs 20:12 & Job 42:5]. He is the only one able to open the book, loose the seals, look thereon and read it. We have to completely and fully depend on Him [Revelation 5:2-10]. Amen. What is the Gospel  [euaggelion]?  According to Strong's Euaggelion G2097 means: a reward for good tidingsgood tidings Euaggelion G2097 is from a root word Eu and Aggelos. Eu (good, well, prosper) & aggelos (message by a messenger) Euaggelion therefore means the reward of glad tidings and glad tidings itself. So, in the word euaggelion, it gives us the good news and the person of the message (messenger), in addition to that there's reward that flows from the glad tidings. Brethren, our calling is not in vain, there's a reward, goodness that flows towards us in our calling, there's a reward to being born again. A reward Now in this present time, and in the age to come life everlasting. [Psalm 23:6; Isaiah 55:11; Luke 18:30; Mark 10:30] We have to acknowledge that Christ is the messenger, yes, the messenger and the message is one. Jesus is the only Messenger [Isaiah 59:16; Rev 5:3 & Isaiah 63:3] Jesus is the chief Messenger [1 Thess 4:16], Jesus is the Messenger of Himself [John 10:16 & Luke 15:4] & Jesus is the Messenger of the Covenant [Malachi 3:1]. Hallelujah, it is Jesus that holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks. He is actively at work fulfilling His Covenant promise among His people. Gospel in a nutshell

by Bro. Ogie Omozusi We have discussed what is the gospel briefly. We shall now look at the topic Gospel in a nutshell We are told what the gospel is in the book of Galatians. I have reproduced it below for your review. _Galatians 3:8 KJV — And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed For a better understanding of the scriptures, it is good we compare a particular verse in the Old Testament with how is rendered in the New Testament. This promise oath [Hebrews 6:13] that was given to Abraham is the Gospel. We see this was four times given to Abraham in the book of Genesis: ♦   Genesis 12::2-3 ~called out from the world/Babylon.♦   Genesis 13:16 ~after Lot separated from him.♦   Genesis 15:5 ~ after he complained to God that he is childless.♦   Genesis 22:17-18 ~ after Isaac was offered as sacrifice. Brethren, this is the Gospel in a nutshell, given to us, revealing all the dimensions of the glad tidings. We shall reproduce Genesis 12:2-3 to highlight all the seven blocks of the promise of God to us, the redeemed and His plans using us to execute it. Notice the word I will and make.  I will speak of the fact that the gospel is bound upon the person and integrity of God and it’s a one-sided Covenant. And the word Make, reveal a process of time in God’s dealing with us personally, corporately and in the world of mankind to actualize His purpose. Genesis 12:2-3 KJV — And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 1.      I will make of thee a great nation2.      I will bless thee3.      I will make thy name great4.      Thou shalt be a blessing5.      I will bless them that bless thee,6.      I will curse him that curseth thee:7.      In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. We shall also break down Genesis 22:17-18 as this was revealed to Abraham after the test to sacrifice Isaac. This was a climax of God’s dealings with Abraham.  Genesis 22:17-18 gives further insight to Abraham and to us with regards to the promise. Genesis 22:17-18 KJV — That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. 1.      That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore.2.      Thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.3.      And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. The promise above is in three major categories, with major emphasis on the seed of Abraham. What is the seed of Abraham? Galatians 3:16 tells us to Abraham and his seed were the promises made and that seed is Christ. It is revealed to us that if we belong to Christ then are we Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. [Galatians 3:29]  We can say that the seed is the class of the Christ and those the belong to Christ at His presence (Parousia) [1 Corinthians 15:23]  There are two divisions of the seed of Abraham: 1.      The stars of the heaven2.      The sand upon the seashore By looking at these scriptures above we come to the awareness of God plan to bless a body of people and bring them to an estate of the stars of the heaven (spiritual) and another body of people to the estate of the sand upon the seashore (physical). This blessing of God to bring forth 2 class of people, the spiritual class and the physical class, is for a two-fold purpose: ● To execute judgement against the enemies of our God [ gate of His enemies ] Examples of enemies are The Devil, Principalities and Powers under Satan, Worldliness, Fleshly mind and Death. ● and because He has filled these groups of persons with Himself and made them in His image and likeness in the physical and spiritual realm, He now use them to bless All nations and families of the earth.  Amen. What we are saying here is that God wants to bless you. God’s plan and purpose is to bless and elevate you from this present level of life (bios) to life(zoe) in the highest.  This is the gospel, the father has made available all things, His Son, His Spirit to actualize this. God’s desire to bless you and not just you only but all the families of the earth, for He saith all the earth is mine Exodus 19:5 [and Psalm 24:1] Questions● Beloved, do you know where you are heading in this journey of life?● In this church age, God works in a body. Are you in the right environment, the group of people you fellowship with, do they know His plans and submit to His Lordship?● Are you allowing God to bless you by making yourself available? Remember Abraham taking his only son for sacrifice? Prayers :■Let us use these scriptures below to pronounce God’s blessings over us. Numbers 6:24-26 KJV — The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee and give thee peace. The Lord bless you and make you a blessing. Faith And Patience in the light of the Promise Inheritance

by Bro. Ogie Omozusi We shall briefly discuss faith and patience in the light of the promise (Gospel) given to Abraham. We shall look at this scripture: Hebrews 6:12 KJV — That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. The above scripture in Hebrews was revealing Abraham's experience with God and how he inherit the promise. God progressively revealed his plan to him step by step and Abraham submit to God all the way to the climax in Genesis 22. In spite of all the mistakes of Abraham, such as the case of Lot, the journey down to Egypt, the fleshly arrangement of Hagar and the craftiness with Abimelech, he continued to progressively yield to God by building altars from Sichem (Moreh) to Bethel, then to Mamre (Hebron) and finally, the climaxed altar Moriah. May God causes us not to be slothful (sluggish, delay, backward) in business; but fervent in spirit; serving the Lord as Abraham was. [Romans 12:11 KJV]. Hebrews 10:36 KJV — For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Psalm 118:27 KJV — God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar. Psalm 118:25 KJV — Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. What therefore is faith? We say faith is the will of God revealed, faith is light. It is the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ [2 Corinthians 4:6]. That Light that shone in our heart, lifting us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. Faith is a person, as we see in [Hebrews 11:1 KJV] Now faith is the substance [Greek: hypostasis: means that which has actual existence] of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This faith comes to us as saving faith, then overcoming faith and finally resurrection faith.  What then is patience?  We say that patience is submission to faith, submission to light. For you to enter into the realities of God. To secure the inheritance [image and likeness in the divine realm] we must submit to faith. It's a life of sacrifice, living a life of the altar. It is a consecrated life, it's a Nazarite lifestyle. Patience, therefore, represents a life of worship, prayers and praise before the LORD allowing faith (light) to transform us into the inheritance. Questions●Have we made mistakes like Abraham? If yes, are we running towards the cross?●Are you presenting your bodies as a living sacrifice?●Are you eating the fresh shewbread in the bright light of the candlesticks? Prayers●Pray that God makes you an altar in His presence before Him, beholding Him face to face.●Pray for the infilling again and again of the Spirit of intercessory prayers, praise and worship. The Lord bless you and make you a blessing Amen. to be continued….
