Prayer Points – Knowing Your Reality As A New Creation

By Bro. Billo. Read Part 2 Here

QUESTIONS

  1. WHO AM I? (IDENTITY )
  2. WHERE AM I FROM? (SOURCE)
  3. WHY AM I HERE (PURPOSE)
  4. WHAT CAN I DO (POTENTIAL)
  5. WHERE AM I GOING? (HOPE/DESTINY)

(you believe and receive it if you speak it long enough)

  • KNOW THE REALITY OF THE NEW CREATION & Eternal Life – 2 Cor 5:14-18
  • “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    • Sure, if Jesus died for all of us, then we all died. We died in Him. In other words, if He paid for me then I paid. If Christ died for me, then my life today is not a human life but the ‘Christ-life’.
  • Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.” – ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    • If you already died, the life with which you came from your mother and father already died in Christ, because now you believe in Jesus Christ. In the mind of God, when Christ died we all died in Him (if I paid for you, you paid. So you paid in me), so now you have a new life. This new life, Paul says cannot be described from the standpoint of the flesh (senses). Your life today, no man can describe it to you accurately from the flesh. DID YOU CATCH THAT? He says, anybody who describes you according to what he sees, hears, touches, etc is Wrong (wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh).
    • For example, Your Health, Bank account, Skin Color, etc, cannot be described from the standpoint of the senses. (I even don’t know myself enough now,  somebody has to tell me who I am!!! 2 Cor 5:16b “…though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.” We thought we knew Christ. We found out that Christ was more than a teacher, a Rabbi, a Jew…. That man made the whole world. Now He gave me His kind of life, now you can’t know me by looking at me.
    • The Apostle John said the same thing in 1 John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” – 1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬. If you look at your body you cannot tell you are the son of God. Because you are looking at the wrong thing. “But when He shall appear we shall look like Him”. “Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory].” – 1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  • Prayer Point #1: Pray for Revelation

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you your identity in Christ.

“Dear Father, thank you for helping me discover who I really am and the priceless treasure you’ve deposited in my spirit through the knowledge of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. I acknowledge and walk in the light of my divine heritage, origin and glory in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”.

You are a “NEW CREATION”. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – ‭‭2 Cor 5‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬. The Word of God is a mirror (I am in Christ, therefore I am a new creation). “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬. These verses aren’t promises from God; it’s a law. They are the sovereign declarations of God.

The one who’s born again is a new creation; he or she has the life and nature of God. Being born again, your human life was supplanted by the life and nature of God. Now your body houses a new type of life that’s unsusceptible and impregnable to sickness or disease. Old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. If you don’t know about this new life, you’ll never put it to work. You will be living a human life when you have the divine life in you.

  • Prayer Point #2Learn to activate the divine life within you by declaring and personalizing the Word of God.

The Bible says in 2 Peter 1:4, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these Ye might be partakers of the divine nature…”. Recognize and affirm your identity; practice it. The Bible says that the communication, the everyday expression of your faith, become effectual as you recognize and affirm who you are in Christ.

“Thank you, righteous Father, for your life in me; I’m born to reign and rule in this world! My life is a testimony of your grace, glory and greatness. I’m blessed and the dispenser of your blessings and goodness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A REPLACEMENT OF THE OLD WITH THE NEW – “For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” – Romans‬ ‭7‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This scripture is part of Apostle Paul’s letter to the church at Rome, where he admonished them to serve God is newness of spirit, and not according to the old ways of the flesh. Why is this important? As we have already seen, a Christian is essentially a new creation, a brand new man, born with the life and nature of God

Therefore, to serve God in newness of spirit means to serve Him in your present state as one who’s been recreated in righteousness and true holiness, and not according to the law or the senses.

This brings us to a better understanding of what Paul said in  2 Corinthians 5:17, that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature;  old things — the old life of the flesh and everything associated with it — are passed away. Being born again, you have put on the new man who according to Colossians 3:10 is renewed in knowledge in the image of God that created him. Think about that. No wonder, the Bible says “as he is so are we in this world” 1 John 4:17
